Jon Biography: Jon started reading Gordon Korman more than 20 years ago, beginning with Beware the Fish, and as soon as he started, he had to keep reading everything he could get his hands on.
Eventually, he reached the point of writing to Gordon as each new book came out, passing on his thoughts and praise, and Gordon wrote back, establishing a strong friendship over the years.
Unhappy with the level of Gordon Korman websites, and convinced he could do a better job, Jon created the Semi-Official Gordon Korman Web Site, and eventually Gordon asked him if he'd like to make it the official site, and bring some more content into it.
On matters other than Gordon Korman, Jon is currently freezing in Omaha, NE, and has a cat named Black Lightning who is both his companion and the bane of his existence.
Jon has returned to Orlando, and is mucking about with this forum, trying to make it all that it should be. It is the forum that is now the bane of his existence.

Stupidly over-reacting to problems, and thereby creating much larger problems for myself.
I caught a computer virus yesterday. Went through the steps to clean it out. Got it to where all my virus software said it was cleared out. But the internet was running very slowly, and I couldn't get it to speed up.
So I guessed that the virus was a really bad one, and backed up some stuff, then wiped my hard drive and reinstalled the system software. I'm still working on getting everything reinstalled and back in place.
But while letting Microsoft do all of their necessary updates, I found that accessing the internet was still horribly slow. So I went out to the living room and shut down and restarted the cable modem and the router ... and boom, everything is back up to speed.
The virus was already gone, and I did NOT need to reinstall the operating system, so this has all been a huge waste of my time.
To make a long story short (just for Joe), I'm an idiot.
But I am doing things a little differently, this time. Since IE is supposed to be the most targeted and most 'open' to malware browser out there, I downloaded Chrome (Google's browser), and won't even use IE this time around.
