This is not a new poem, but people who haven't seen it will probably appreciate it. Plus, now you can see where 'gazzo' comes from.
Neglected Chore
(Or, I’m in hot water)
My father told me “clear the walk!”
As he went out the door
I called to him “Sure enough!”
And then I played some more
He’ll be gone the whole day
No sense in rushing it
Besides, I’m playing Gazzo
And I don’t want to quit
You see, you have to get this thing
Attached to this doohickey
And then this little heejazz…
Believe me, it’s real tricky!
Well, I was having so much fun
The time just flew away
And when I looked up at the clock
My face turned ashy gray!
There wasn’t time to clear the walk!
Now what was I to do?
My breathing came quite quickly
My face retained its ashen hue
But, after while I settled down
And I began to think
A smile washed away my frown
As I ran for the sink
While filling up a bucket
With water steaming hot
I reasoned this would clear the walk
In one nice easy shot
That water surely did the trick!
The snow melted real nice
(Little did I realize
That it would turn to ice)
I just got back to Gazzo
When I thought I heard a THUMP!!!
I looked outside in time to see
My dad flat on his rump
Even though I’m sure
He’s pleased I cleared away the snow
I think I better leave now
See you later, gotta go!!!
