Biography: Jon started reading Gordon Korman more than 20 years ago, beginning with Beware the Fish, and as soon as he started, he had to keep reading everything he could get his hands on.

Eventually, he reached the point of writing to Gordon as each new book came out, passing on his thoughts and praise, and Gordon wrote back, establishing a strong friendship over the years.

Unhappy with the level of Gordon Korman websites, and convinced he could do a better job, Jon created the Semi-Official Gordon Korman Web Site, and eventually Gordon asked him if he'd like to make it the official site, and bring some more content into it.

On matters other than Gordon Korman, ~~Jon is currently freezing in Omaha, NE, and has a cat named Black Lightning who is both his companion and the bane of his existence.~~

Jon has returned to Orlando, and is mucking about with this forum, trying to make it all that it should be. It is the forum that is now the bane of his existence.

So on the SF forum, I recommended one of Brandon's mainstream fantasy books, and in here I have kind of plugged his scifi kids' fiction books, the Alcatraz series.

Well, tonight, I have read a couple of short stories he has written, and they have both been cool, fun, and interesting.

It is an interesting first-contact kind of story that includes, as part of it's odd set-up, one of the phone companies becoming the most powerful organizations on Earth.

People who are Unclear about the Concept of Short Stories Time Stop!

So in the last two years, Brandon has written three 1000 page novels, and he has decided to take a couple of months off during this time to kind of recharge his batteries.

During this time he decided he would write another short story.

The short story is now over 40,000 words long, which makes it officially a short novel according to some organizations. (That would come to between 120 and 160 pages the way most books are typeset.) Bwahaha

Some people just don't get the concept of short story.

Brandon remains a fabulous writer with tons of great books he continues to produce ... but this site no longer has much traffic able to discuss it.
